Unless you’ve spent the past three decades deployed to Mars, you’ve heard of Starbucks. The worldwide chain sells everything from coffee to fancy pantries, music and gifts.
Starbucks supports military members and veterans through donations and a competitive veteran hiring program. “At Starbucks, we believe veterans, service members and military spouses make our company better and communities stronger,” Starbucks spokesperson Bri Tarpey said in an email.
This year, Starbucks will offer free beverages to current and former military members on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2022. If you or your spouse served in the military, stop into Starbucks on Nov. 11 to get a free “tall” (12-oz) hot or iced coffee of your choice.
Starbucks 2022 Veterans Day Deal
If you’re a veteran who loves coffee, make time to go to Starbucks on Veterans Day.
You and your spouse can get a free hot or cold 12-oz coffee at participating store.
Starbucks Veterans Day Deal Eligibility
You may need proof of your veteran or military dependent status to get a free drink.
Bring a current military or retired ID, a VA health card or a DD-214. A state driver’s license with a veteran status designation may also suffice.
Starbucks Military Discount
Starbucks doesn’t have a corporate-wide everyday military discount, but individual stores might offer their own discounts. For example, many airport Starbucks stores participate in travel and hospitality franchise discount policies, including military discounts.
Contact the Starbucks closest to you to find out if they offer a military discount.
Save More with Starbucks Rewards
While your local store might not offer a military discount every day of the year, you can get free food and drinks by signing up for the Starbucks rewards program.
When you scan your Starbucks rewards program app at the register, you will get one star per dollar you spend. To double your reward stars, pre-load money to your digital Starbucks card and use the app to pay for your order.
Starbucks stars add up quickly, and free item rewards start at just 25 stars.
How Starbucks Supports Military Members and Veterans
Starbucks has supported military and veteran families through veteran-focused recruiting efforts and donations to military-focused organizations.
For Veterans Day 2022, Starbucks said it will donate $100,000 to Team Red, White and Blue (Team RWB), a nonprofit organization focused on veteran mental and physical health and wellness.
So far, over 200,000 veterans have joined Team RWB, according to the organization’s website.
Starbucks said it will donate another $100,000 to Team Rubicon, which mobilizes veterans to serve in disaster-stricken areas across the United States. The nonprofit leverages veterans’ skills and experiences to support disaster relief efforts during humanitarian crises, according to the Team Rubicon website.
Additionally, Starbucks donates coffee to deployed military members. To date, they’ve sent over four million Starbucks VIA Instant and K-cup coffee servings to military members who are deployed overseas, according to the Starbucks website.
Veteran Employment Opportunities at Starbucks
Starbucks’ coffee is robust, and so is its military hiring program.
In 2013, Starbucks launched its first dedicated veterans and military spouse hiring team. Since then, the team has hired over 26,000 former military members and spouses, according to the Starbucks website.
